Expected behaviours in the library


Use of laptops and mobile phones

Expectations
No games/ movies/ MP3 files etc. are to be accessed on laptops during private study periods.
No mobile phones are to be used at any time in the library.

Consequences
If expectations are not met, phones and/or laptops will be confiscated and sent to Head of Year.

Use of library resources

Library computers

Expectations
Students are expected to use the library computers for educational purposes during class times. Games are not to be played during class time

Consequences
If expectations are not met, the computers will be turned off and the student reported to the Head of the Library.

Classroom North
Classroom North can only be used by students under teacher supervision.

Classroom South
Classroom South is available for individual study at all times, when it is not booked for classes.

Video and DVD viewing stations
No recreational movies may be viewed during class and private study times.

Consequences

If expectations are not met, students will receive a demerit.

Respect for the library environment

Expectations
Students are expected to respect the library as a clean, safe and healthy environment. They are not expected to bring food or drinks into the library.

Consequences
If expectations are not met, students will receive a Friday detention.

Harassment

Expectations

Students are expected to adhere to the school's policy on harassment which is committed to providing all staff and students with a working and learning environment that is free from harassment.
Students are not expected to access any material on the internet that is pornographic and offensive to ethnic/racial, religious and social sensibilities.
Students are expected to communicate openly and honestly. They are not expected to use racist, abusive or obscene language.
They are not expected to bully each other or harass staff members.
Consequences
If expectations are not met, students will be reported to the Head of the Library and/or the Head of Year.
