The boy who loved Anne Frank
Author: Ellen Feldman
Selected by Allan Q. Year 8
Review: The first time I saw this book was at Readings on the Literature Club book buying excursion. At
first sight and from the cover, it looked to be a good book. I then read the blurb and flicked through the pages. I thought
that this may be a book that shall interest me and others. After consulting others of what they thought of the book I decided
to buy it for the Library. I have now reserved the book and am looking forward to a good read .
Hunting and Gathering
Author: Anna Gavalda
Selected by Ms. Morris Librarian
Review: I was immediately attracted to this book after reading the quote on the cover -“ Like the film
Amelie but twice as beautiful ” I bought it on our Readings Book buying excursion because I thought it might appeal to other
staff and as soon as it arrived in the library Ms.Kamte asked to reserve it.

the first chapter is really engaging.
How to rule the world
Author: Andre De Guillaume
Selected by Simon H Year 7
Review: I chose this book during the recent literature club book buying excursion. I found it in the humour
section and thought that people might like to read it. It looked quite interesting, and I thought it could be used for both
school projects and leisure reading. It is set out as a step by step guide, with historical information on the world's
greatest tyrants and dictators and small sections on failures and successes of other dictators that you can learn from . The
book teaches you to rule by fear. This book is not to be taken seriously, it is just a humour book, though there is no
mention of any jokes in it.
The Bart book
Author: Bill Morrison
Selected by Simon H Year 7
Review: Another book to add to the Simpson's collection at school that was bought on the second literature
club book buying excursion for 2006. I always like reading the comics and other Simpsons books because they are good to take
your mind off things. I read them just for fun when there is nothing else to read. I knew people would want to read this
book, and there are others in the series that were bought on the excursion. People always read Simpsons books, so I got this
one for school.
Crème de la Phlegm : unforgettable Australian Reviews
Author: Angela Bennie
Selected by Ms. Morris Librarian
Review: I saw this book and liked it because the author has the same name as me! A good enough reason to buy
it I thought….The book contains some really harsh and biting reviews of Australian literature, music, film and theatre since
the 1950's and one quote that caught my eye was written by Shaun Charles about Matthew Reilly's Scarecrow – “the simple truth
is this: Scarecrow is crap.” Anyone at Scotch agree with that one??
