Leigh Hobbs
Leigh Hobbs was born in Melbourne in 1953. He has illustrated numerous children's books and many of his cartoons have appeared in the Melbourne Age. Leigh also paints and sculpts and has a passion for English history and dogs.
Workshop title: Creating a character in your own style (Yr 10)
Leigh will discuss with students aspects of his artwork including his 'Age' cartoons, Flinders Street Station Teapot, his colour scheme for the entrance to Luna Park, through to characters created in words and pictures for books, focussing on 'Old Tom' and 'Horrible Harriet'. Leigh will then demonstrate to students techniques to assist them in creating and developing their own characters with confidence in their own style.
