John Nicholson

John Nicholson
John Nicholson worked as an architect, graphic designer and illustrator before beginning to write and illustrate children's books in 1990. John believes that information books can be as exciting and adventurous and fiction. He aims his books at kids, who like himself, find the world of the imagination slightly unconvincing, but who are drawn into reading books about the drama of real life.
Some of his books include Gold!, The First Fleet, Explorers of Australia and Building the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Workshop title: The magic of perspective (Yr 7, 8)
John takes students on an illustration journey exploring concept, practice and delivery of ideas. Students are given research skills that are imperative in the illustration process and are shown the depth of understanding needed to combine writing and illustrating skills.

Session Details: Year 7
