Isobelle Carmody
Isobelle is the award winning author of thirteen novels and many short stories. She wrote her first book in the award winning Obernewtyn Chronicles at 14. She won the Peace Prize
and the CBC Book of the Year for her novel The Gathering, and the Marcus Clarke Award for her short story The Monster Game. She still considers the short story the most perfect form of writing.
Isobelle divides her time between Prague in Eastern Europe and Australia.

Keynote - "Why Fantasy? What is the attraction for readers and writers?" (Yr 11)

Workshop - "The Monster Game" (Yr 10)
Everyone can tell stories but writing them down is the hard thing. Award winning author Isobelle Carmody talks about how she became a writer and why she writes and reads fantasy. She will also talk about how good writers use their natural human ability to communicate, to enhance their prose.
