Daring to Dream (Yr 12)
As 19 year-olds, Tim Cope and Chris Hatherly set out to plan and live
out a dream of adventure and exploration: to travel through Russia, Siberia,
Mongolia and China by bicycle. It was a journey that eventually took them
14 months and 10,000km testing their resilience, faith in themselves,
and their ability to cope with the challenges and uncertainty that adventure
brings. From frostbite to broken bikes and dining with the nomads of the
Gobi desert it brought them closer to the local communities and left them
with a taste of what it is like to turn a far flung idea dream into reality.
