Bully boys and bitch barbies: what boys and girls say about peer groups at school
(Year 9)
Based on interviews with about 900 Australian students, Maria will talk about what
young people say they are thinking, feeling and experiencing in regard to bullying and harassment,
peer group pressure, and media pressure. Can a nerd be cool? Do drugs and drink make the man?
Students will be able to discuss their own thoughts, perspectives and experiences about these
and other issues.
