These Are My People

These Are My People

By Alan Marshall

“ We get a real sense of Australia at that time... ”

It is 1942 and Alan, his wife Olive, and their dog set off in a horse drawn caravan to tour Victoria. Their task is to collect messages from the families and friends of troops fighting overseas - messages to be published by the A.I.F News. The thing I loved so much about this book was Alan Marshall's way with words and his ability to sum things up. We get a real sense of Australia at that time in his own views, observations, and interactions with the various characters they met along the way.
