The Library Auxiliary fundraises to help our boys engage in the Library and Information Centre and provides opportunities for parents to come together in relaxed social settings. Our major fundraiser is the Text Book Exchange but our main role is friend-raising.
The 2012 Committee of Carlene Relf [President], Chris Ritter [Vice President], Christine Faragher [Secretary], and Rita Bordin-Roberts [Treasurer] welcomes new members to this vibrant working Auxiliary.
Literature Circles for Parents
Each term the library hosts a book chat under the guidance of the teacher librarians. These discussions are held in the Senior Library.
This is an opportunity for parents with an interest in reading to exchange their views and recommendations. The reading group does not set particular books for discussion but enjoys sharing a wide range of literature. Many parents enjoy listening to the discussion before bringing in their own books.
This is a popular annual get-together for teachers and parents.
In 2012 a Family Fun Night is planned for August 22 as a family literary event and dinner.
please see the flyer for more information.
Details will be also posted in TORCH as the event approaches.
If you are cleaning out your shelves, please bring a box of books or magazines to our library for the second-hand bookstall the Library Auxiliary runs on Family Day. All donations are gratefully received.
Set to coincide with the dates of the literature circles, the meetings are always open to new members.
