Taiko drums and flutes of Japan

Taiko drums and flutes of Japan
Toshinori Sakamoto studied under the renowned conductor and lead percussionist of the Kumamoto Philharmonic Orchestra, Takashi Fukuda. He has established several taiko ensembles in Melbourne and performs regularly in festivals and schools. Junko Sakamoto was also a taiko drummer in the Kumanoto Orchestra in Japan before coming to Australia. Anne Norman first trained on Western flute and took up shakuhachi in 1986 while living in Japan.

Performance: This is a highly energetic, visually exciting and entertaining Japanese music performance by three outstanding musicians.
